    LAS VEGAS (Aug. 9, 2016) — The National Automotive Service Task Force (NASTF) Fall 2016 General Meeting will feature a panel of OEM experts, Nov. 2, during the Automotive Aftermarket Parts Exposition (AAPEX) in Las Vegas.

    The session, “Take the Box Outta the Box,” is designed for advanced service technicians who have purchased an SAE J2534 vehicle interface device, but have yet to use it in the profitable business of module programming, the organizers said. Representatives of the OEMs will discuss the use and limitations of the SAE J2534 tool.

    OEM participants will include:

    • Kurt Immekus, service publications regulatory specialist, Volkswagen Group America (moderator and panelist);
    • Bob Stewart, manager Aftermarket Service Support, General Motors Co.; and
    • Representatives from Toyota Motor Sales USA and American Honda.

    The 90-minute session will be held at 1:15 p.m. (PST) in Casanova Room 504 of the Sands Expo/Venetian Hotel.

    The NASTF Fall 2016 General Meeting will be held 1-4:30 p.m. (PST), and is a featured event in the AAPEX Service Professionals Program. The full agenda for the NASTF Fall 2016 General Meeting is posted on the NASTF website.

    Registration is not required for the NASTF event and seating is limited. Registration, however, is required for AAPEX.

    NASTF was established in 2000 to identify, communicate and resolve gaps in the availability and accessibility of automotive service information, service training, diagnostic tools, and equipment for the benefit of automotive service professionals and their customers.
