GRAND BLANC, Mich. (July 18, 2016) — Students pursuing careers in automotive service can apply for the ACDelco “100 Years, 100 Futures” scholarship program through July 31.
The program was launched in conjunction with the centennial celebration of the auto parts brand. The scholarships are designed to help defray the costs of college for students enrolled in the GM ASEP program, which combines classroom and real-world, paid internships at sponsoring GM dealerships and independent ACDelco Professional Service Center program shops.
The program will award $1,000 scholarships to 100 GM ASEP students.
The GM ASEP program operates through selected public colleges and universities across the country. Graduates alternate time in the classroom with hands-on automotive service experience and receive an associate's degree in applied science or equivalent.
The program provides up to 90 percent of the training required to become a GM-certified technician.
