Michelin exec Stafford to keynote ITEC

AKRON (July 18, 2016) — David Stafford, executive vice president, personnel and chief human resources officer for Michelin North America, will deliver the keynote address at the upcoming International Tire Exhibition & Conference (ITEC) at the John S. Knight Center in Akron, Sept. 13-15.

Mr. Stafford's presentation — taking place on the 13th at 3:45 p.m. — will cover technology, innovation, advanced manufacturing and what Michelin is doing to engage a changing work force.

Held every two years, ITEC is dedicated to tire makers and those who serve the industry, and is hosted by Rubber & Plastics News, a sister publication of Tire Business.

Mr. Stafford joined Michelin in 1984, working in the materials research department. In 1990, he transferred to the truck tire research and development group at the company's headquarters in France, where he worked for three years.

From 1993 to 2002, he was responsible for a number of truck tire product research and development groups, both in North America and at the Michelin Group level. He was appointed technical director for Michelin Americas Truck Tires in 2002.

Along with his duties for Michelin, Mr. Stafford is on the area commission for Greenville (S.C.) Technical College and on the advisory board for Clemson University's School of Engineering and Science.

A networking reception will follow the keynote address.

The keynote is one of highlight of a conference program that includes more than 55 individual presentations, plus panel discussions.
