AUGUSTA, Ga.—Jim Whitehead Tire and Auto has rebranded its automotive and commercial tire stores in Georgia and South Carolina as Best-One Tire & Service locations.
Jim Whitehead Sr. started his dealership in 1985 and runs the business with his son Jim Whitehead Jr.
“We are excited to join an organization that operates under the same guiding principles that Paul Zurcher lived by,” said the younger Mr. Whitehead, who noted this relationship allows his family's company to glean the benefits of being part of a larger organization while still maintaining its independence in the marketplace.
Jim Whitehead's Best-One will continue to offer commercial tires and service at locations in Augusta, Evans and Pendergrass, Ga., and in Greer and Columbia, S.C. Among the locations are four commercial sites, one retail site, a Bandag retread plant and a truck/trailer servicing business.
As is standard with the Best-One network, Best-One founders the Zurcher family took a minority ownership stake in Jim Whitehead Tire.
Best-One, with more than 250 partner locations, ranked as the seventh largest retail tire dealership in North America based on company-owned outlets in 2015, and the third largest commercial dealership based on sales volume, according to Tire Business research.
