SANTA ANA, Calif. (July 15, 2016) — Yokohama Tire Corp. (YTC) and the Chelsea Football Club are partnering to offer free youth soccer clinics in the U.S. in July and August.
YTC parent Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd. is a corporate sponsor of the Chelsea FC; the Yokohama logo appears on the English soccer team's jerseys.
The clinics, which are open to the general public, are in conjunction with Chelsea's three-game U.S. summer tour, Yokohama said.
The coaching clinics will take place on July 23-24 in Santa Monica, Calif.; July 25 in Norwalk, Calif.; July 29 in Ann Arbor, Mich.; and Aug. 1 in Minneapolis. Those interested in attending can register at www.yokohamatire.com/chelseaclinics for an opportunity for a space.
YTC also is involved with several U.S. youth soccer tournaments and will participate in the clinics given by the Chelsea coaches.
“What an incredible opportunity for young soccer players,” said Alan Holtschneider, director of marketing at YTC, the official shirt partner of Chelsea FC. “It's not every day you get to learn from a world-class organization.”
During its U.S. tour, Chelsea will face Liverpool FC July 27 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif.; Real Madrid July 30 at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor; and AC Milan Aug. 3 at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.
