AMITYVILLE, N.Y. (July 12, 2016) — The New York Tire Dealers Association (NYTDA) is partnering with Association Development Services Inc. (ADS), an association management company, to improve its operations.
The NYTDA was founded in 1921 and provides member services and benefits for independent tire dealers and those working within the industry throughout the state of New York.
The NYTDA said its goal, with the help of ADS, is to introduce new networking opportunities, provide valuable member benefits and communicate effectively with its members, including getting the younger generation of tire dealers involved.
One way the NYTDA has catered to a younger generation is by offering its annual scholarship award, the association said. This year, the association awarded Alexa Peterson and Dylan Moran each with a $1,000 scholarship.
The NYTDA will host its 23rd Annual Golf Classic on Aug. 11 at the Stonebridge Country Club, Smithtown, N.Y. The event will be in honor of Steve Sabol of Bridgestone Americas North America and Mike Prestia and Jim Moran of Trotta Tire in Deer Park, N.Y.
An ADS spokeswoman explained that Mr. Sabol is retiring after working for the tire maker for many years, while Messrs. Moran and Prestia “are being honored for their hard work and dedication to Trotta Tire. When the president of Trotta Tire fell ill, Jim and Mike rose to the occasion to insure that the company would still continue to run smoothly.”
