BOWIE, Md. (June 29, 2016) — The board of directors of the Tire Industry Association adopted a new mission statement at its mid-year meeting the weekend of June 25.
TIA said the new statement more accurately represents the focus of its efforts.
‘The mission of TIA is to promote tire safety through training and education, to act as the principal advocate in government affairs, and to enhance the image and professionalism of the industry so that our member businesses may be more successful,” the statement reads.
TIA's recent emphasis on education and training programs, as well as its longstanding government relations efforts, made the new mission statement necessary, according to TIA Executive Vice President Roy Littlefield.
“We have achieved phenomenal growth over the past few years due to the success of our members, so the updated mission statement definitely reflects our identity as an organization,” Mr. Littlefield said.
“Training and government affairs have always been our strengths and our most valued member services, but we recognize that the challenges facing our members require additional support to help the public understand the roles that the industry plays in society and the workforce,” he said.
