ANAHEIM, Calif. (June 24, 2016) — The third annual Young Technicians Symposium is scheduled for Aug. 12 at the Congress of Automotive Repair & Service (CARS) in Anaheim, according to the Automotive Service Association (ASA).
Jim Cokonis, senior curriculum developer with CARQUEST Technical Institute and an ASE Certified Master Technician, will lead the symposium, the ASA said.
The Young Technicians Symposium brings together a group of promising auto technicians with at least two years' experience for a full day of intensive training. Utilizing the latest techniques, the symposium is designed to accelerate understanding of the auto repair industry, according to the ASA.
Among other features, CARQUEST Technical Institute will offer a scan tool diagnostic class that gives techs the opportunity to be hands-on with their own scan tool, the ASA said.
Using the latest vehicle simulator, CARQUEST instructors also will teach the students how to read and interpret scan data.
Scheduled for Aug. 9-14, CARS is billed as the “premier event” for auto service professionals and is held in tandem with the International Autobody Congress & Exposition (NACE).
