    Tire Business staff report

SAN ANTONIO — The Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance (AAPA) has added a new shareholder, parts distributor Triple A of San Pedro Sula, Honduras.

AAPA comprises more than 50 independent shareholders offering an array of auto products with one main focus — service, according to the San Antonio-based group. Members of the Alliance, which goes to market under the Auto Value and Bumper to Bumper brand names, operate warehouses, parts stores and certified service centers that offer more than 1.9 million parts and accessories. The group's locations are found internationally across the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and have a presence in Europe as well.

“We are delighted to welcome Jeffrey Martinez, the president of Triple A, and his entire team to the Alliance family,” John R. Washbish, AAPA president and CEO, said in a press release.

He noted that Mr. Martinez's business “epitomizes the type of blue chip operations that make up the Alliance — 43 years in business, the largest distributor for suspension and undercar parts in Honduras, and an impressive, continuous 20 percent year-over-year growth.”

Triple A was founded in 1971 as a repair facility. Over the years, according to the AAPA, the business evolved into a distributorship. The company serves all of Honduras from four primary warehouses.

Mr. Martinez said his company is “tremendously excited about this new association. We have been contemplating an affiliation with a North American-based program group, and when the Alliance came calling, it was like a dream come true.

“We are very impressed with their global capabilities and look forward to a long and mutually rewarding association.”
