TBC honors top SpeeDee dealers

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. (June 16, 2016) — TBC Corp.'s SpeeDee Oil Change & Auto Service franchise unit has recognized seven franchisees as Franchisee of the Year winners for their respective region.

The winners, who were recognized at regional meetings recently, are:

New England: Brian Bouthillette of Cumberland, R.I., who owns three SpeeDee outlets in Massachusetts and two in Rhode Island. He started working at SpeeDee at age 16.

Mid-Atlantic: Steve Sarrantonio of Concord, N.C., a franchisee since 2013 who recently purchased his second franchise location. This is Mr. Sarrantonio's second consecutive year as Franchisee of the Year.

Gulf Coast: Don Juneau and Keith Voorhies of New Orleans, both longtime SpeeDee franchisees with 23 years between them and multiple Franchisee of the Year recognitions — Mr. Juneau four times and Mr. Voorhies five. Both are members of the SpeeDee Milestone Club, a recognition program for sales. They own one shop together.

Texas Region: Robbie Rounsaville of Ruston, La., a 17-year veteran SpeeDee franchise owner with one shop.

California Region: Adam and Sean Ballard of Tracy, Calif. The brothers began working at SpeeDee in high school and have been with the organization ever since. They operate one shop together.

Franchisees were selected based upon criteria including, but not limited to: sales growth, exceeding customer expectations, training initiatives and compliance. The criteria are woven into programs available to SpeeDee franchisees.

“I would like to recognize all of the franchisees that comprise the SpeeDee organization; we're extremely fortunate to have a team of exceptional franchisees who work tirelessly to represent the SpeeDee brand and strive to exceed customer expectations each and every day.”

There are 156 SpeeDee locations in operation in 21 states.

TBC has controlled the SpeeDee brand since 2012, when it took over the business in its $310 million acquisition of Midas Inc.

Midas, in turn, had acquired SpeeDee in 2008, paying $20.8 million for the the assets of G.C. & K.B. Investments Inc., which controlled the SpeeDee brand.
