MCHENRY, Ill. (June 13, 2016) — Brake Parts Inc. L.L.C. (BPI) recently was presented with its sixth Landmark Award from the United Way of Greater McHenry County.
BPI, a unit of Affinia Group Inc., received the award — given annually to companies contributing at least $100,000 toward United Way campaign efforts — for raising more than $176,000 during the 2015 United Way campaign cycle.
“I am extremely proud to say this is the sixth time that Brake Parts Inc has received the Landmark Award for its generous donation to the local United Way chapter,” said David Overbeeke, BPI president and CEO.
“This award really goes to all of the BPI employees who go above and beyond to give to this organization that funds health and human service agencies right in our area. Donating to the United Way is our way to give back to help better the lives of people in the community that need assistance.”
McHenry-based BPI, a manufacturer and supplier of aftermarket brake system components, said its employees contributed to the campaign through special fundraising projects such as a silent auction, raffles, a taco lunch sale and “Jeans Month,” where employee could pay to wear jeans to work. The company matched donations made by employees.
