Off-road, the alternate shoulder grooves work to clear mud quickly while the Lateral Z grooves create biting edges for better traction, according to Nitto. Reinforced block foundations add rigidity, reducing tread flex while integrated stone ejectors reduce stone drilling and protect the bottom groove. Nitto's Ridge Grappler also features two unique sidewall designs that allow buyers to choose the best look for their vehicles.
“The Ridge Grappler offers our truck customers the perfect balance between aggressive tread design, capable off-road performance and day-to-day ride comfort,” said Alan Ngo, Nitto senior staff engineer. The company is slotting the new tire in between its Trail Grappler mud terrain and Terra Grappler G2 all terrain models.
Mr. Ngo added that the Ridge Grappler “is packed with exciting new technology that makes it one of the most capable and livable Grappler tires we've ever offered.”
The new tires are available in an F load range rating in select sizes. Overall, the Ridge Grappler will be offered in 30 sizes, Nitto said, with fitments for Jeep Wranglers as well as ¾- and 1-ton trucks.
