LAKEVILLE, Ind. (June 8, 2016) — Hoosier Racing Tire Corp.'s custom manufacturing division recently was awarded ISO 9001-2008 certification, signifying the quality system at the firm's Lakeville plant meets the standards set forth by the International Organization for Standardization of Geneva, Switzerland.
Certification was recommended after an audit by an accelerated independent registrar, Hoosier Tire said. In preparation for certification, the firm's employees received specialized training to increase quality awareness and establish a consistent direction for quality through improved communication, control of quality costs and standardization process.
Hoosier Racing Tire custom manufacturing division is responsible for producing rubber mixing, gum and textile calendaring. The ISO standards to which it adheres represents Hoosier Racing's commitment to quality and, according to the company, further strengthens its commitment to its customers and company quality policy.
Hoosier Racing produces more than 1,400 different types of races tires, all of which are manufactured in the U.S., making it the world's largest race tire manufacturer.
