HARTFORD, Conn. (May 24, 2016) — Leading chemical technology developer Permatex has expanded its line of products with the Permatex Silicone Ceramic Extreme Brake Parts Lubricant.
The new product is designed to prevent disc brake squeal while protecting caliper pins, sleeves, bushings and pistons against seizing and galling, the firm said.
According to Permatex, the product features a 100-percent silicone, non-petroleum-based formula fortified with a high concentration of high temperature ceramic-solids, meant to deliver performance on all sliding surfaces.
Permatex said the new lubricant will not melt and can handle temperatures ranging from -50 to 3,000 degrees F. It will not wash out and is designed to last throughout the life of the brake pad, the company added.
Permatex Silicone Ceramic Extreme Brake Parts Lubricant is compatible with internal/external brake rubber and plastic hardware, including ethylene-propylene rubber and metal components. It can be applied to a backing plate or shim as a noise suppressor, dampening the natural vibration frequencies that cause caliper brake squeal, the company said.
The product is available in a 0.5-ounce squeeze tube (Part No. 24129) and 8-ounce bottle with built-in applicator (Part No. 80653). For more information, visit www.permatex.com.
