MADISON, Ind. (May 17, 2016) — Vehicle Service Group brand Rotary Lift has launched a space-saving double-section scissors lift, the RLP77, which it said is meant to serve as an economical choice for quick-service jobs and smaller service bays.
Rotary Lift designed the RLP77 Double-Section Scissor Lift's twin platforms to be extra-wide and feature hinged ramps that fold up and lock in place, extending the vehicle pick-up point service. The company said the ramps also can fold 65 degrees down and away, giving technicians more access to perform wheel and brake service.
When installed above ground, the lift provides more than 78 inches of clearance, and a low-profile design allows vehicles to drive over the lift platforms with ease.
The lift incorporates Synchrodrive, a patent-pending, fully mechanical hydraulic system that Rotary Lift said does the lifting work equally for both platforms. According to the company, the system uses fewer moving parts, hoses, valves and seals than other scissor lift systems to provide greater reliability and fewer wear parts.
Synchrodrive also includes Rotary Lift's Blocked Platform protection technology to prevent out-of-level lowering. If something causes one platform to stop lowering—like running into a piece of equipment accidentally left in the bay—the Blocked Platform function will stop both platforms from lowering further.
