WASHINGTON ( May 18, 2016) — The Recycling Research Foundation, a nonprofit organization closely associated with the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI), is accepting applications for its National Scholarship and Veterans Stipend Program.
The National Foundation Scholarship is a $5,000 scholarship designed to support graduate students participating in a degree program to the scrap recycling industry, IRSI said. The scholarship will support the education of innovative minds in the fields of rubber, metal, plastic, glass and other recycling, it said.
The National Veterans Stipend provides up to $8,000 to veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces who seek to complete their undergraduate educations, ISRI said. The stipend provides $2,000 per year for up to four years, it said.
To receive the stipend, veterans must have served at least two years of active duty or four years in the military and have been honorably discharged, the ISRI said.
June 1 is the deadline to apply for both programs. For more information on the RRF and its scholarship opportunities, go to www.isri.org.
