TIA selects Global Tire Expo host hotel

LAS VEGAS (May 11, 2016) — The Tire Industry Association (TIA) is returning to the Tropicana Las Vegas as host hotel for the 2016 Global Tire Expo (GTE) — Powered by TIA this fall.

The GTE will run concurrently with the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show, as in past years, from Nov. 1 to Nov. 4. TIA's pre-show events are scheduled for Oct. 31 at the Tropicana, the association said.

The Tropicana Las Vegas — A Doubletree by Hilton property — underwent a $200 million renovation prior to the 2015 expo, according to TIA, which used the Tropicana last year as the headquarters hotel for the first time. 

The hotel has won various awards, including the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence, the Travelocity Excellence Award and the Las Vegas Review-Journal awards for best hotel rooms and best hotel room value in 2015.

TIA has secured a block of Club Deluxe Rooms at the Tropicana between Oct. 28 and Nov. 5. Room rates are $160 per night Oct. 28-29 and Nov. 4-5, $120 per night the other nights.
