Some 2005-08 Jeep Grand Cherokee or 2006-08 Jeep Commander models built before July 26, 2007, may emit a squeaking sound from the rear of the SUV when going over rough road surfaces.
One likely cause, Chrysler said, is improperly installed rear springs in relation to the upper spring seats.
Installing new-design upper spring isolators, Part No. 52089341AE, and repositioning the springs so that their pigtails face the back of the vehicle should eliminate the noise.
