ATLANTA (May 6, 2016) — Kumho Tire USA Inc. will supply its Solus TA31 all-season premium touring tire as the OE fitment for the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica.
The Chrysler Pacifica — an all-new minivan replacing the Town & Country in FCA US L.L.C.'s model lineup — will be offered with Solus TA31 tires in size 245/50R20 and 235/65R17, Kumho said.
According to FCA US, the Pacifica is the world's first hybrid plug-in minivan, offering drivers gas mileage of up to 80 mpg equivalent in city driving. The vehicle is available now in the U.S. and Canada and also will be offered in Korea and Europe under the Grand Voyager moniker.
Kumho has been an OE tire supplier to FCA US, formerly Chrysler Group L.L.C., for the last decade, with its first fitment being the 2006 Chrysler Sebring.
Hyun-Ho Kim, senior vice president of Kumho Tire, said the deal is recognition of the tire maker's “technological prowess and brand power” and that it will help enhance awareness of the brand in global markets.
“We will keep enhancing our expertise and brand power for continued partnership with world-renowned car manufacturers and greater global market share,” he said.
Besides Kumho, Bridgestone Americas and Yokohama Tire Corp. have announced OE fitments on this vehicle.
