NASHVILLE, Tenn. (April 25, 2016) — To celebrate the 100th Running of the Indianapolis 500 on May 29, Bridgestone Americas Inc. is sponsoring a sweepstakes for a trip to the race and to meet racing legend Mario Andretti.
Bridgestone's Firestone brand tire is the official tire of the Verizon IndyCar Series as well as the specified race tire.
The six-week online “Race Andretti” sweepstakes invites participants to outrace Mr. Andretti while performing everyday household tasks. The first challenge is to see how quickly participants can peel an orange. A new challenge will be revealed each week through May 15.
An additional bonus challenge will be launched on May 15 offering participants the chance to win a milk bottle autographed by Mr. Andretti and the winning driver of the 2016 Indy 500. Mr. Andretti won the Indy 500 in 1969 and also won the Indy Car national championship four times and the Formula 1 world championship in 1978,
The sweepstakes concludes on May 30.
Contestants can enter the sweepstakes via its website to register and access Mr. Andretti's challenge videos before posting their own videos to the site or on Twitter using #RaceAndrettiSweepstakes.
At the end of each challenge week, Firestone will post Mr. Andretti's full video showing his official finish time. Each week, one contestant will be selected to receive a $500 gift card redeemable at any Firestone Complete Auto Care store nationwide, as well as a Firestone Racing hat signed by Mr. Andretti.
Winning submissions will be featured side-by-side in a video with Mr. Andretti competing in that week's task.
One grand prize winner will be selected from the pool of weekly winners and announced on May 15. The grand prize winner will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to the Indianapolis 500 and the opportunity to meet Mr. Andretti.
