SAN ANTONIO (April 18, 2016) — HDA Truck Pride and the Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance (AAPA) have formed a new joint venture, the Aftermarket Distributors Alliance L.L.C.
The alliance, which HDA Truck Pride and the AAPA will own equally, will allow distributors within both organizations to better serve customers in the light-, medium- and heavy-duty truck markets, HDA Truck Pride announced in a press release.
The announcement was made during HDA Truck Pride's annual meeting in San Antonio, according to the release.
Arbitrarily partitioning the aftermarket by vehicle types or market segments no longer makes sense in today's integrated aftermarket, according to Don Reimondo, president and CEO of HDA Truck Pride.
“Updating business practices and introducing technology to look holistically at the parts distribution business makes sense as we move toward the future,” he said.
The Aftermarket Distributors Alliance will benefit parts distributors with the management of national and regional accounts, allow cross-purchasing and group warehouses, develop new technology, improve vendor relations and provide potential for international business expansion, the two groups said.
