“This acquisition…is a welcomed addition to our company,” said Brett Windom, president of IEH Auto, which does business as Auto Plus and Pep Boys – Manny, Moe & Jack.
“We are committed to aggressive growth through acquisition and corporate store development, and a business such as Greene's Auto Parts further enables our company to expand our footprint within targeted markets.”
Financial terms were not disclosed. Greene's Auto Parts has been operating in Winder for more than 33 years, providing repair and maintenance parts for cars and light trucks, along with maintenance items for trailers and agricultural and industrial tractors.
There are 11 Auto Plus locations in Georgia, according to the Auto Plus website's location finder.
IEH's parent company, Icahn Enterprises Holdings L.P., acquired Pep Boys in December 2015 for $1.03 billion after a protracted bidding war with Bridgestone Americas L.L.C., and put Pep Boys under IEH's control.
