ANN ARBOR, Mich. — The 7th Rubber Modified Asphalt Conference will take place Nov. 2-3 at the Sheraton Ann Arbor Hotel, according to a press release issued by the Rubber Manufacturers Association.
The RMA, the Scrap Tire Research and Education Foundation, the Rubber Pavement Association and the Rubber Division of the American Chemical Society are hosts of the conference, according to the release.
Co-hosts include the Asphalt Institute, the National Asphalt Pavement Association, the Rubberized Asphalt Foundation and the National Center for Asphalt Technology, it said. The conference is in cooperation with the Federal Highway Administration and the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality.
Topics to be discussed at the conference include the history of rubber-modified asphalt technology, current usage and costs, and case studies from state departments of transportation.
Before the conference on Nov. 1, the Scrap Tire Work Group will meet in Ann Arbor to discuss the overall progress of state scrap tire markets and programs, the press release said.
Members of the Scrap Tire Work Group include representatives from government, trade organizations and scrap tire publications, as well as consultants, academics and scrap tire recyclers.
