Yokohama earns OE spot on Pacifica

SANTA ANA, Calif. (March 28, 2016) — Yokohama Tire Corp. (YTC) has gained an OE fitment on the the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica, Fiat Chrysler Automobile L.L.C.'s (FCA) revamped minivan design due in dealers' showrooms this spring.  

FCA is fitting Yokohama's all-season Avid S34RV in size 235/65R17 104T for both the U.S. and Canadian markets.

The tire incorporates the basic design and materials technology used in the company's “BluEarth” global tire brand, which is based on the concept of “environmentally, human and socially friendly,” Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd. said.

“Our Avid line has a long history of being original equipment to some of the most exciting vehicles,” said Andrew Zeisser, director of OE sales for Yokohama Tire Corp. “The Chrysler Pacifica, which will also be available in a hybrid, is yet a new addition we are proud to welcome.”

Bridgestone Americas also is an OE supplier to the Pacifica, with its Turanza EL440 in size 235/60R18 as the standard fitment on the Limited model and optional on the Touring-L Plus model.

The eight-passenger Pacifica reprises a Chrysler mid-size crossover nameplate from the mid-2000s with more traditional minivan styling and load-carrying capacity. A hybrid model is due out in late 2016.
