N. Gateway to open expanded D/C

SEVILLE, Ohio (March 25, 2016) — Tire retailer and wholesaler North Gateway Tire Co. Inc. is holding an open house and ribbon cutting April 16 to celebrate the completion of a $3.3 million expansion of its distribution warehouse in Seville.

The tire company will be hosting a “day of fun” for customers and vendors, including food, prizes, entertainment and sales, it said.

Activities will include a grand prize giveaway of a Polaris side-by-side ATV, sponsored by Yokohama; inventory reduction auction items; open house only specials; a Firestone DAFT display featuring an Indy car, racing simulator and show truck; a warehouse tour; $100 credit towards event specials for each company in attendance; and more.

North Gateway recently added 83,000-sq.-ft. onto the already existing 170,000-sq.-ft. warehouse it commissioned in 2007. According to a company spokeswoman, construction on the expansion began toward the end of 2014 and wrapped up earlier this year, with “finishing touches” being put on the facility now.

The investment was not disclosed.

She noted that the expansion will be used primarily for additional tire storage, adding, “With the warehouse we have now, we were just overcrowded.” The company has already hired two additional warehouse staff members and will be adding more.

For out-of-town guests, the company said it has reserved a block of discounted rooms at a nearby hotel.

North Gateway Tire is part of Mississippi wholesaler and retailer Dunlap & Kyle Co. Inc. It also operates a retail outlet in nearby Medina, Ohio.
