LONDON (March 21, 2016) — A senior research executive at Sumitomo Rubber Industries Ltd., Kazaburo Nakaseko, will discuss recent advances in environmentally friendly tire materials technology at the Future Tire Conference 2016, May 24-25 in Essen, Germany.

Mr. Nakaseko's presentation, on the 25th, will be part of the Future Tire Technology & Materials Forum and will investigate the development of 100-percent fossil free tires as well as nano-scale material simulation for polymer development.

Future Tire Conference 2016 is organized by European Rubber Journal, a sister publication of Tire Business. It will be held concurrently with Reifen 2016/RubberTech Europe May 24-27 in Essen.

For more information, please visit the Future Tire Conference website.

Mr. Nakaseko has been with Sumitomo Rubber since the late 1970s, joining the Kobe, Japan-based company as a specialist in tire structure design, engaged in tire development.

In 2006, he became an executive officer and went to Goodyear Dunlop Tires Europe, serving as a member of the board. In 2008, he became the head of research and development and since 2010 has been the senior executive officer.

A master's degree graduate in mechanical engineering at Kobe University, he has been president of the Society of Rubber Science and Technology in Japan since 2015.

Other presenters on future tire technology/materials at Future Tire will be:

Hans Dorfi, manager, advanced tire technology, Bridgestone Corp., on “How virtual design and testing is enabling future tire innovation”; and Stuart Cook, director of research, Tun Abdul Razak Research Centre, on “Designing and developing the green tire of the future.”
