SANTA ANA, Calif. (March 18, 2016) — Yokohama Tire Corp. (YTC) is sponsoring a section of the upcoming Easter Jeep Safari Week, which is marking its 50th anniversary.
Thousands of off-road driving enthusiasts — and between 25,000 and 35,000 visitors — are prepping for the event, which is scheduled to take place March 19-27 in Moab, Utah.
Off-roaders will hit the trails where YTC will be part of the festivities, sponsoring the 70-mile-long Day Canyon Point Trail on March 21, in conjunction with the launch of the tire maker's new Geolandar A/T G015 pick-up/SUV tire, which is being shipped to dealers for sale starting April 1.
The Day Canyon Point Trail features sweeping vistas, several shelf ledges, varied terrain and the notorious obstacle Broken Bill Hill, according to Santa Ana-based Yokohama. The challenging trail also offers views of the Colorado River, Moab Rim and rock formations like the Puppet Show and the Lodges.
The company rolled out the latest in its Geolandar line during a ride-and-drive event for journalists March 14 in Moab.
“Yokohama is known for producing some of the most innovative tires on the market, and I can't think of a better way to showcase the Geolandar A/T G015 than in Moab,” said Alan Holtschneider, YTC director of marketing.
According to the Red Rock 4-Wheelers (RR4W) — the longstanding organization that runs Easter Jeep Safari Week — sponsoring a trail helps support initiatives that benefit the off-roading community.
