WASHINGTON (March 4, 2016) — Federated Mutual Insurance Co., the preferred provider of business and workers' compensation insurance for the Tire Industry Association (TIA), will host a Risk Management Academy for tire and auto dealers.
The seminar, which will take place May 23-25 at Federated headquarters in Owatonna, Minn., is designed specifically for dealership owners and employees who are responsible for implementing risk management strategies, TIA said in a press release.
It will target specific risk management issues for the tire industry, including:
• Distracted driving;
• Hiring, screening and retaining employees;
• Claims handling;
• Employment-related practices liability;
• Implementing a drug- and alcohol-free workplace;
• Risk-managing your workers' compensation; and
• Major loss areas in the tire industry.
The seminar is free to TIA members, but they are responsible for paying for their own travel, lodging and meals. Space is limited to 25 persons, TIA said.
