KOBE, Japan (Feb. 26, 2016) — Sumitomo Rubber Industries Ltd. (SRI) is setting up regional headquarters for its Asia/Pacific, Americas and Europe/Africa regions and has named Yasutaka Ii, a director and senior executive officer, to be general manager of the firm's Americas Regional Headquarters, effective March 30.
Establishing these regional offices is tied to the dissolution last year of SRI's 16-year global alliance with Goodyear. SRI said establishing regional headquarters will centralize the supervision and management of its overseas offices and subsidiaries in each respective region, thereby helping to accelerate management's decision-making process.
SRI did not disclose at this time where the regional headquarters offices will be located.
Mr. Ii, who has been with SRI since 1981, continues as a director and senior executive officer, the company said, positions he's held since 2011.
Other appointments are:
- Yutaka Kuroda, general manager, Europe and Africa Regional HQ; and
- Satoru Yamamoto, general manager, Asia Pacific Regional HQ.
Both continue as directors and senior executive officers at SRI.
