SALT LAKE CITY (Feb. 23, 2016) — The Automotive Service Association (ASA) is urging its Utah members to write their legislators opposing House Bill 319, which would eliminate vehicle safety inspections in the state.
Under current state law, vehicles in Utah 10 years old or older must pass safety inspections every year. House Bill 319, introduced by Utah Representative Norman Thurston, R-64, would repeal that requirement, according to the ASA.
The ASA has placed a form letter against House Bill 319 on its legislative website. From there, members can sign and transmit it to Utah legislators.
