NIAGARA FALLS, Ontario (Feb. 5, 2016) — “Driving Towards the Circular Economy” is the theme of the 2016 Rubber Recycling Symposium sponsored by the Tire and Rubber Association of Canada (TRAC), scheduled to take place in Niagara Falls Oct. 5-7.

The Rubber Manufacturers Association and Ontario Tire Stewardship will co-host the symposium, which will feature presentations exploring both the obstacles to full rubber resource recovery and the innovations that will carry it forward, according to TRAC.

The symposium will begin Oct. 5 with a presentation titled, “Global Overview — Legislative and Regulatory Environment,” featuring a panel of experts from Canada, Europe and the U.S. A panel of tire manufacturing executives will follow with a presentation titled, “Tire Manufacturing — Driving the Circular Economy.”

The Oct. 6 program will begin with “Rubber in the Ground — Synthetic Turf and TDA Engineered Products.” It will continue with a two-part presentation on “Remaking Tire Stewardship in Ontario,” a speech titled, “Rubber Modified Asphalt — Let's Get Serious,” and an evening networking reception. The Oct. 6 lunch will feature a keynote speaker to be announced, according to TRAC.

The symposium will finish Oct. 7 with an “Innovations Panel” along with a panel of tire industry CEOs discussing challenges and opportunities in rubber recycling.

For more information about the symposium, contact Carolyn Goard, TRAC manager of communications and marketing, at 905-814-1714 or via email at [email protected].
