Finkelstein opens Md. distribution center

HANOVER, Md. (Feb. 3, 2016) — Max Finkelstein Inc. (MFI) has opened a distribution center in Hanover, allowing the Astoria, N.Y.-based wholesaler to initiate service to dealers in Maryland, Delaware, Virginia and Washington D.C.

Finkelstein said it is planning to open additional centers to enhance service throughout this targeted footprint.

The 94,000-sq.-ft. warehouse in Hanover, which opened in January, is Finkelstein's 13th wholesale distribution center. The company's footprint now spans from Virginia to Maine, serving the entire Mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions daily via more than 180 delivery trucks.

The new location offers access to Interstates 95, 97, 195 and 895, according to MFI, and is about two hours south of its next closest warehouse, in Reading, Pa.

The company, which calls itself Goodyear's largest independently owned wholesale distributor, also opened a 300,000-sq.-ft. regional distribution center in Westampton, N.J., last year. This center acts as a hub for nine other distribution centers, delivering just-in-time replenishment and special orders on nightly basis.

MFI has added one distribution center to its footprint each year for the past six years.

Along with Goodyear, Dunlop, and Kelly consumer and commercial tires, the company distributes Pirelli, Kumho, Kenda, and Carlisle, as well as a wide range of private label consumer, commercial, OTR, and specialty products. The company is an adminsistrator/ distributor for the Goodyear G3X, Pirelli Fastrack, Kumho Premium Fuel and Kenda Traction dealer programs.
