SUPERIOR, Wis. (Feb. 2, 2016) — Amsoil Inc. has reformulated its European Car Formula 5W-30 synthetic motor oil to further meet the lubrication needs of modern European gasoline- and diesel-fueled cars and light trucks.

Amsoil said its European Car Formula 5W-30 Improved Emission System Protection (ESP) motor oil provides “outstanding performance and protection” for high-performance vehicles, including makes such as Volkswagen, Audi, Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Porsche, the firm said.

Engineered with a select additive package and shear-stable synthetic base oils, Amsoil said the new product meets strict ACEA and VW HT/HS requirements. Its mid-sulfated ash, phosphorus and sulfur (SAPS) formulation is designed to promote optimum emissions system performance and life, resulting in reduced maintenance costs, the company said.

Friction modifiers and the lighter 5W-30 viscosity reduce friction for increased energy through-put to maximize fuel economy, Amsoil noted, adding the oil provides improved deposit control and wear protection for gasoline- and diesel-fueled engines. It is formulated to stay in grade throughout the extended drain intervals recommended by European automakers.

Amsoil said European Car Formula 5W-30 Improved ESP is thermally stable to keep oil passages clean and promote fluid circulation, keeping turbo bearings cool and lubricated. It also provides enhanced turbocharger protection in all temperatures, while its thermal stability is designed to withstand high-temperature/high-rpm breakdown.

Lastly, a low pour point is meant to protect turbochargers from oil starvation and ensure rapid oil pressure in sub-zero conditions.

Amsoil said the oil is recommended for gasoline or diesel vehicles requiring any of the following performance specifications: API SN; Chrysler MS-11106 (eco diesel); ACEA C3; GM dexos2 (diesel); VW 504.00/507.00; Mercedes-Benz 229.51; BMW LL-04; and Porsche C30.
