MAGOG, Quebec—Specialty tire and rubber track maker Camso Ltd. has added two wheel loader tires to its portfolio that it claims offer greater productivity and lower operating costs.
The new tires, the WHL 775 and WHL 773, are designed for waste/recycling/ demolition/scrap yard and demanding construction job sites, respectively, the company said.
“Offering tires that last longer, reduce downtime and enhance productivity helps us bring a lower operating cost solution to our customers' fleets,” said David Fleischhauer, executive director, market development/construction at Camso. “These two new wheel loader tires will do just that.”
The bias-ply Camso WHL 775 offers a deep L5 lug tread for enhanced durability and protection against flats on extreme mixed and hard surfaces, Camso said. The contoured lug base promotes material ejection and defends against cracking, while the “robust” carcass improves stability and heavy-duty sidewall construction resists side impacts and deformation under heavy loads.
It's also designed to accommodate urethane flat-proof fill.
The Camso WHL 773 offers a mono-block, high lug-to-void ratio tread pattern for performance on hard surfaces and is designed to resist rubber chipping and chunking. A wide footprint ensures stability in rocky abrasive conditions, according to the company.
Magog-based Camso is the former Camoplast Solideal Inc., which adopted the Camso name in July 2015. The firm, which goes to market as the “Road Free” company, sources its tires from plants in Argentina, Brazil, China and Sri Lanka for the handling, construction, agriculture and powersports sectors.
Separately, Camso disclosed recently it has achieved “partner-level” status from tractor maker Deere & Co. and received Toyoto Industrial Equipment Manufacturing's Safety, Environment, Quality, Cost and Delivery (SEQCD) Award for supplier excellence.
This is the third consecutive year of achieving partner-level status at Deere, which Camso said is the tractor maker's highest supplier rating.
Hugues Lajoie, vice president and general manager agriculture at Camso, called Deere's recognition a “strong affirmation of our OEM-driven philosophy.” Camso supplies Deere with agricultural tracks and track systems.
Camso said its award from Toyota was for “outstanding performance and its high standards of excellence” for its materials-handling wheels and tires.
“This Toyota SEQCD Award is a testimony of our commitment to our clients,” said Gilles Villela, OE sales executive director/material handling at Camso.

Camso has been a primary supplier of high-performance material handling tires and wheels for Toyota forklifts for the past decade, supplying nearly 90 percent of Toyota's OE requirements for forklifts manufactured in North America.
