SUWANEE, Ga. (Jan. 27, 2016) — Maxxis International Inc. is extending its involvement this year in off-road racing.

The company has agreed to become the title sponsor for former motocross champion Jeremy McGrath's Pro2 truck entry in the Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series and has re-signed defending champions in two other series.

The deal with Mr. McGrath, who drove on Maxxis tires last season, also makes him a “brand ambassador” for Maxxis,  the Suwanee-based company said.

In addition, Maxxis has re-signed CJ Greaves and Levi Shirley, both of whom won their respective series championships in 2015 — the Pro 4 and Pro 2 classes in The Offroad Racing Series (TORC) for Mr. Greaves and the Ultra 4/KOH title for Mr. Shirley.

Besides LOORS, TORC and Ultra 4, Maxxis will be active this year in the WERock and DirtRiot series as a tire supplier.

On track, Maxxis will be active in drifting (Formula Drift), road racing (Time Attack, Endurance, and Spec racing series), Autocross (discounts to Sports Car Club of America members) and rally and rallycross series (discounts and contingencies).

The company, a subsidiary of Taiwan's Maxxis International/Cheng Shin Rubber Co. Ltd., has two new motorsport tires on tap as well:

    • Victra VR-1 200-UTQG UHP tire designed for use on street or track, including those racing series that require a 200-UTQG, DOT-legal tire. For use in: autocross, Time Attack, endurance racing, HPDE, etc.
    • Trepador Competition (New 42-inch size added for 2016) for the Ultra4 series.

Maxxis said it  also is adding sizes to its Victra R19 Rally line.
