WASHINGTON (Jan. 11, 2016) — Hankook Tire America Corp. is recalling 46,988 Hankook Ventus S1 Noble 2 tires for possible sidewall cracks.
The tires affected by the recall are size 245/45R18 96W, 245/40R19 94W and 275/35R19 96W, according to the company.
The size 245/45R18 96W tires were manufactured between May 20, 2013, and Feb. 14, 2015, and the others between May 22, 2013, and Feb. 14, 2015, Hankook told the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
The tires were manufactured as original equipment for the Hyundai Genesis sedan, and also for the replacement market, Hankook said.
The tire maker notified its dealers about the recall Dec. 22, 2015, and said it will begin notifying owners this month. Hankook will replace the recalled tires free of charge.
