WASHINGTON (Jan. 6, 2016) — Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. is voluntarily recalling 153 Cooper Zeon LTZ Extra Load tubeless tires, size 275/55R20 XL, for possible tread cracking or tread lug chunking.
The tires were manufactured between Sept. 1 and Sept. 14, 2015, Cooper told the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Tread cracking and tread lug chunking can cause loss of air pressure and tire failure, according to Cooper.
The Findlay, Ohio-based tire maker will begin notifying tire owners in January, and will replace the tires free of charge.

The DOT serial numbers of the tires being recalled are UT Y1 CN9 3515 through 3715, indicating they were produced at Cooper's Texarkana, Ark., plant.
