COLUMBIA, Tenn. (Jan. 4, 2015) — Tire mold maker Global Manufacturing Services Inc. is upgrading its Columbia plant with a $620,000 investment in new equipment.
The company, which supplies most of the North American-based tire makers, said the move will create 43 jobs.
“Tire manufacturers require high quality products and services, delivered as quickly as possible,” said GMS President Mike Carson. “The continued investment in exceptional people and equipment will allow us to exceed the needs of existing and future customers.”
GMS specializes in engineering, designing, manufacturing and repairing tire molds. The investment includes cranes, GMS said, and the project will involve modifying the building to accommodate the equipment.
