AKRON (Dec. 29, 2015) — Goodyear, along with Michigan State University and the University of Alabama, set the Guinness World Record for constructing the world's largest game of cornhole in Pompano Beach, Fla.
Goodyear said this record-breaking game helped to kickoff the week leading up to the 80th Annual Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic, which takes place on Dec. 31 in Arlington, Texas.
The cornhole game, which is a traditional tailgate game, was super-sized for the big event at 64 ft. by 32 ft. and incorporated the Goodyear blimp.
With school mascots cheering from the ground, Goodyear said cheerleaders from Michigan State University and the University of Alabama flew more than 200 feet above the cornhole game board to toss beanbags out of Goodyear's Wingfoot One blimp.
The students competed for bragging rights as their teams prepare to face off on New Year's Eve. The cornhole game ended in a 1-1 tie, according to the Akron-based tire maker.
