BOWIE, Md. (Dec. 16, 2015) — The Tire Industry Association (TIA) has set the schedule for its 2016 Certified Commercial Tire Service (CTS) Instructor Training and Certification classes.
All CTS classes will be held in Baltimore and Denver, TIA said.
The classes include all aspects of truck tire and wheel service, and exceed the minimum training requirements established by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), according to TIA.
Training includes OSHA regulations, mounting/demounting/inflation, torque, puncture repair, balancing, road service and more, the association said.
Trainees have their choice of a three- or four-day program. The four-day students arrive on a Tuesday and participate in one full day of hands-on training, including the demounting, mounting, installation, removal and repair of a tubeless truck tire.
The three-day students join the class on Wednesday for a combination of classroom and hands-on training, TIA said.
The Baltimore CTS classes will take place at the Community College of Baltimore County in Catonsville, Md., according to TIA. The training dates are March 8-11, May 17-20 and Oct. 18-21, with three-day programs beginning on March 9, May 18 and Oct. 19.
Denver CTS classes will be held at Lincoln College of Technology, Aurora, Colo., TIA said. Class dates are April 5-8, Sept. 13-16 and Dec. 6-9, with three-day courses beginning on April 6, Sept. 14 and Dec. 7.
