NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Dec. 9, 2015) — Bridgestone Americas has hired Jan Steinmetz, previously a vice president with Royal Dutch Shell, as the tire maker's chief human resources officer to lead the company's international human resource programming for nearly 55,000 employees.
Mr. Steinmetz succeeds Christine Karbowiak, who was acting chief human resource officer since February in addition to her roles as the company's chief administrative officer and chief risk officer. He will oversee the efforts of teams driving organizational culture, talent acquisition, teammate development and training, compensation and benefits, and all other business and functional HR programs, Nashville-based Bridgestone said.
Mr. Steinmetz previously worked more than 32 years at Royal Dutch Shell, serving in a number of vice presidency roles for the company throughout the U.S. and Canada.
