R.O. Writer licenses 'MotoLOGIC' software

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. (Dec. 8, 2015) — Advance Auto Parts Inc. has agreed to license its MotoLOGIC Repair & Diagnostics software, dedicated to providing OE service data in its original unedited format, to R.O. Writer, a TBC Corp. subsidiary.

R.O. Writer, a developer of auto shop management software, expects to leverage the MotoLOGIC software to help customers increase efficiency through enhanced product offerings.

MotoLOGIC is a product of Advance Auto's Motoshop Technology Tools portfolio of Web-based technologies for commercial shop owners and technicians.

Richard Forness, general manager and vice president of technology for R.O. Writer, said the company is “…committed to helping our customers take control of their businesses by optimizing and streamlining operations at their shops, and our partnership with MotoLOGIC will do just that by driving efficiency during the repair process.

“This enhancement to software adds value for all of our customers,” he added. “We will continue identifying opportunities that support our underlying mission to be a strategic and trusted partner for the long term.”

The parties did not disclose financial details or the length of the deal.

R.O. Writer said incorporating MotoLOGIC's repair and diagnostic information will allow it to meet its customers' needs through an enhanced version of its own software that will build on existing functions that support service writing, time management, inventory management, business management, accounting and profitability while offering tailored training and reliable support.
