WASHINGTON (Dec. 7, 2015) — The Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI) recently received a 2015 MarCom Platinum Award, in the category of “App for Information.”
The award was given for ISRI's iPhone and Android app ISRI Mobile, which provides safety resources, industry news and events, commodities facts and figures, and ISRI Chapter listings. With the app, ISRI members can use a searchable member directory, connect with state and federal elected officials, read the latest edition of the group's Scrap magazine, publications and governance documents, and more.
“Whether working in their facility or traveling on business, those in the recycling industry are frequently on the move,” said Mark Carpenter, ISRI's director of media relations and online communications, who noted that the ISRI Mobile “was designed to be a cutting-edge app that provides recyclers with the tools and resources they need to conduct business where ever they may be.
“No other trade association provides the value of such an app to its members or others in the industry. It is an honor for ISRI to be recognized by those in the communications and marketing field as a leader in such technology.”
MarCom Awards is an international creative competition that recognizes outstanding achievement by marketing and communication professionals, according to ISRI. This year the competition received about 6,500 entries from throughout the U.S., Canada and more than a dozen other countries. Entries come from corporate marketing and communication departments, advertising agencies, PR firms, design shops, production companies and freelancers. The competition is administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals.
