CHARLOTTE, N.C.—American Tire Distributors Holdings Inc. (ATD) has hired Stuart Schuette as its CEO, effective Jan. 4, replacing William Berry, who announced his retirement earlier this year.
Most recently, Mr. Schuette served as COO of US Foods, the second largest food service distribution company in the country, with more than $23 billion in annual revenue and approximately 24,000 employees. In his role
with the company, Mr. Schuette oversaw the operational and administrative functions across over 60 locations servicing more than 250,000 customers nationwide.
During his 20-year career at US Foods, Mr. Schuette held a variety of executive sales, finance and operations positions. Most recently he was integrally involved in the transformation of the US Foods brand, sales and functional organization, according to ATD.
Prior to joining US Foods, he served as an executive at Martin Brower, a subsidiary of Reyes Holdings L.L.C., and a distributor of products to more than 8,400 McDonald's Corp. restaurants.
