AKRON (Nov. 16, 2015) — Goodyear's online tire-buying program, which the tire maker announced at its annual dealer conference earlier this year, has now been rolled out to all U.S. markets.
According to Goodyear, more than 4,000 outlets — including Goodyear's 600 company-owned tire and automotive service centers — have signed on as tire installers under the e-commerce program. That is double Goodyear's initial expectations for the program's inaugural year.
Consumers are able to purchase tires through Goodyear.com from any computer or mobile device, the Akron-based tire maker said. After identifying their vehicle or tire size, available tire options are provided along with information to help consumers make the right selection.
After choosing their tires, consumers can then schedule an appointment for installation at an authorized installer of their choice. The entire purchase is completed online and upfront, Goodyear said, allowing customers to simply show up for the appointment at the scheduled installation time.
“For consumers who prefer the convenience and control of online shopping, this program provides a welcome option,” said Mike Dauberman, Goodyear's senior director of marketing and interactive. “Goodyear.com now offers drivers a simple online shopping experience, the superior performance of Goodyear tires and the confidence of having them installed by an authorized local installer.”
