CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Nov. 11, 2015) — Meineke Car Care Centers nationwide are offering free oil changes to U.S. military veterans on Nov. 11 in honor of Veterans' Day.

Meineke's free oil change offer for veterans is an annual tradition with the auto service provider's franchise network, but the brand's franchisor, Driven Brands Inc., is involved in a number of other initiatives that support the military community.

Driven Brands/Meineke said it plans to sign the Employer Statement of Support for the Guard and Reserve, and has donated $10,000 to AmVets and Hope for Warriors.

The Guard and Reserve proclamation indicates steadfast commitment to providing continued and meaningful employment for America's reserve and retired military personnel and their families, Driven Brands said, and signing it solidifies what many Meineke owners already practice when they hire retired and/or reserve military members.

AmVets is an organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for American Veterans, and Hope for Warriors is a support program provider for military families.

Meineke also teamed up with fellow Driven Brands franchise program Maaco to refurbish and gift a truck to a deserving veteran as part of the company's Cars and Stripes program.

“Veterans Day is the ideal time to display our genuine gratitude for the sacrifices made every day by the brave men and women in our military,” said Artemio Garza, chief marketing officer of Meineke Car Care Centers.

“At Meineke, we know an oil change is a basic service vehicles need to ensure they continue to properly function. By offering free oil changes to the military community, we're doing our small part to ensure they have their most basic need taken care of.”

Free oil changes are available on Nov. 11 at more than 460 participating Meineke Centers to active, retired and reserve military members with valid military ID. The offer is valid at participating locations only and applies to Meineke's basic oil change package, according to the Charlotte-based company.

Customers are encouraged to take advantage of Meineke's online appointment scheduler to book their oil change appointment in advance. Rainchecks will be available at Meineke locations offering the promotion that cannot accommodate all free oil change requests on Veterans Day.
