DURAND, Wis. (Nov. 4, 2015) — Bauer Built Inc. has opened a new commercial tire center in Clarksville, Ind., as it continues to expand services in its growing customer base.
Tad Bauer, president of Durand-based Bauer Built, said the company continues to meet the demand of its commercial customers in identifying new markets for service support, emergency road service and enhanced delivery.
The new full-service location, at 5601 Highway 31 East, Building F in Clarksville, “developed as a natural extension of the Indianapolis facility and their customer base stretching throughout the southern part of Indiana and trucking companies traveling north and south on Interstate 65 through the city of Louisville, Ky.,” Mr. Bauer said.
The location was an existing truck and trailer repair shop that Bauer Built is now leasing, according to a company spokeswoman. It has four drive-through bays to accommodate tractor/trailers, and will do commercial tire and fleet maintenance only.
“We will operate several tire service trucks and several fleet maintenance mechanical trucks out of this location as well,” the spokeswoman told Tire Business, noting that the company's Indianapolis store “is a couple hours to the north of this (Clarksville) location.”
Initially the new outlet will employ eight as Bauer Built ramps up operations — including a manager, salesperson, three tire techs and three mechanics, she said, adding: “We expect to outgrow this facility in three to five years.”
Bauer Built did not reveal its investment in the new location.
The company, which has been in business 71 years, operates 36 tire and mobile service centers, seven Michelin Retread Technology retread plants and four wheel-refinishing operations as well as a bulk petroleum business out of its headquarters in Durand.
