LAS VEGAS (Nov. 4, 2015) — Michelin North America Inc. and the Tire Industry Association (TIA) have awarded scholarships totaling $6,250 to three students whose parents work at TIA member companies.
The three students selected are Sydney Burgess of Fort Mohave, Ariz.; Levi Lewis of Greencastle, Ind.; and Remmy Rocha of Gothenburg, Neb., according to Janet Foster-Whitley, director of sales of Michelin, who disclosed the winners at the TIA Awards Banquet in Las Vegas on Nov. 2.
Michelin and TIA Scholarship have been awarded 52 scholarships worth more than $250,000 over the past 15 years to dependent children of full-time employees of TIA member tire dealers or part-time employees of TIA member companies.
Ms. Burgess is the daughter of Kelly Burgess of Superior Tire Co. in Bullhead City, Ariz. She graduated from Mohave High School and attends Brigham Young University.
Mr. Lewis is the son of David Lewis of Tire Rack Inc. in South Bend, Ind. He graduated from Greencastle High School in Greencastle, Ind., and is studying French and business at Indiana University.
Mr. Rocha is the son of Julio Rocha of Dawson Tire & Wheel in Gothenburg, Neb. He graduated from Gothenburg High School in Gothenburg and attends Creighton University.
