SEMA SHOW: Conti, BBS take top new product honors

LAS VEGAS (Nov. 4, 2015) — Continental Tire the Americas Inc. and BBS of America Inc. took home the top tire and wheel category honors in this year's New Products Showcase awards at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show, currently underway in Las Vegas.

Conti's Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 all-season performance tire was judged to the best new product in the tires and related products category, while BBS' BBS 2 PC Motorsport Tuner Wheel was judged tops in the wheel and related product category.

The awards are given annually to the most innovative and cutting-edge automotive aftermarket products that will be consumable in 2016, SEMA said. Nearly 3,000 products were entered into 16 different Showcase categories.

Winners were selected based on a variety of factors that included quality, marketability, innovation, technology, consumer appeal and more, according to SEMA.

Runners-up in the tires category were two BFGoodrich-brand products from Michelin North America Inc. — the BFG All-Terrain T/A KO2 / 34x10.50R17LT and BFG g-Force COMP-2 A/S / 235/50ZR18.

Runners-up in the wheels category were Bartec USA L.L.C.'s Tech400 Pro advanced TPMS scan tool and the Pro Comp / Smittybilt / Rubicon Express / G2 Axle & Gear / LRG Rims / Poison Spyder - Procomp 44 Series — Syndrome from ProComp USA. This product also was the winner in the Off-Road/4-Wheel Drive Product category.
