SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (Oct. 20, 2015) — Discount Tire/America's Tire has expanded its network to 31 states with the opening this year of stores in Arkansas, Mississippi and Montana.
In all, Discount TIre has opened 14 stores thus far in 2015, enlarging the dealership's store network to 910 locations in 31 states.
The stores in new states are in Fayetteville, Ark., Southhaven, Miss., and Kalispell, Mont. The Southhaven store is just south of Memphis, Tenn., and is considered the dealership's first store in the Memphis area. It has 15 stores in Tennessee.
Of the other dozen new stores, four are in the Heartland states of Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, an area the company targeted for growth starting in 2012/13.
Discount opened its 900th store, in Cedar Falls, Iowa, in late December 2014.
The company did not disclose any size or employment details on any of the stores opened this year.
The other new stores opened this year, and the number of stores in that state, are:
- Yuma, Ariz. — 70 stores;
- Durango and Glenwood Springs, Colo. — 48 stores;
- Warsaw, Ind. — 25 stores;
- Derby and Olathe, Kan. — three stores;
- Joplin, Mo. — four stores;
- Papillion, Neb. — six stores;
- Anderson, S.C. — 10 stores; and
- College Station and Portland, Texas — 235 stores.
The company also relocated a store in Bellingham, Wash., to a new location. Discount did not elaborate on its reasons for relocating the store, which now is just a few blocks from the old location and right off Interstate 5 near downtown Bellingham.
